Ozark City Schools is excited to host Camp Invention: Spark this summer at D.A. Smith Middle School! Thanks to a generous grant from the Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP), this hands-on STEM camp—valued at $285 per student—is available to our students completely FREE through available scholarships.

This year’s all-new 2026 curriculum features four modules where campers will solve mysteries with a robotic capybara, design floating billboard boats, launch DIY rockets, and team up with the "Innovation Force" to solve global challenges!

Dates: June 8, 2026 – June 12, 2026

Times: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Location: D.A. Smith Middle School (994 Andrews Ave, Ozark, AL 36360)

Eligible Grades: Children entering grades K-6

Cost: $0 (Once scholarship spots are full, standard registration is $285.)

Public Notice: Destruction of Records

Special education records that have been retained for five (5) years after the termination of a student’s special education program (five years after the student graduates with a regular diploma or five years after the student becomes twenty-one years old) are no longer needed by Ozark City Schools. Information available in special education records include student name, school, date of birth, grade level, sex, address, student referral form, parental consent information, vision and hearing screening form, various testing results, evaluation data, eligibility reports, and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). These records also include correspondence memorandums, applications, case files, and reports.

Parents or individuals wishing to claim special education records should email the Special Education Coordinator at mlowery@ozarkcityshcools.net by May 22, 2026. If the records are not claimed, they will be destroyed. Confidentiality will be maintained.
